Introduction to Team Management
The role of Team Manager is one of the most important roles within the team structure. Providing stability to the team’s campaign planning and execution, the Team Manager is central within the team, and often, the main point of contact from external stakeholders such as Tournament Managers, Match Managers and Citing Commissioners.
Each Union or Federation will have slightly different roles and responsibilities for a Team Manager – no two manager roles will be the same. To ensure you identify your duties, it is important to have a specific job description that has been agreed with your reporting manager and the team's Head Coach.
A Team Manager must be highly organised and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. They must also be able to build relationships with a number of different stakeholders and project a positive image of the team and the Union. Team Management is a challenging and exciting role.
