Medical information

Much like the player information, your team’s medical staff will be required to provide baseline information and conduct some screening procedures. Read through the medical sections of the Terms of Participation and ensure you liaise with the medic on a suitable time and place for the screening activities. This may require attendance by the players at a medical facility, or some additional time added to a training session.

Players can also submit Therapeutic Exempt Forms (TUE’s) which, if approved allows the use of certain prohibited substances for legitimate medical reasons. The TUE is sent for approval, so the process takes some time. Make sure your medics and players are aware of the process and submit and required forms as early as possible. Further information is available here TUEs | World Rugby

To operate pitch side at a tournament utilising HIA, your team medics must be qualified to Level Two in Immediate Care in Rugby (or equivalent). This qualification must be valid and in date. Having information on how long ago your team medics achieved this accreditation, as well as the additionally required online modules will help them, and you, plan when certification may run out.

An individual can check their module status by logging into: World Rugby Passport

Equivalence information can be found here: Medical Qualification Equivalency
