The Tournament Manager

The Tournament Manager will be a senior official at the Tournament venue and will be responsible for matters related to the Tournament Venue, the planning and conduct of the matches and the elements related to teams in the organisation of these matches.

In the case of World Rugby tournaments, the Tournament Manager will be appointed by World Rugby and will therefore be a World Rugby Official. In the case of a regional or national tournament, the Tournament Manager will be appointed by the regional or national association running the tournament.

The responsibilities of the Tournament Manager shall include planning, pre-tournament meetings, compliance checks, timings, tournament operations, relationships, support and reporting.

Tournaments can involve multiple teams in several categories playing on more than one field. Delivering the schedule,  officials, medical services, fields, and other elements usually takes a large team. An effective Tournament Manager will direct and support their team to deliver the many elements of a successful tournament.
