Weather conditions
One factor over which you have no control is the weather - but it can be a good idea to know in advance if inclement weather is likely to be a factor before, during and after the tournament. Check the forecast, and if you find anything worthy of concern, communicate your concern to the relevant parties so everyone is prepared. There may be steps that the Tournament Manager, Venue Manager, or participating teams can take to mitigate the effects of extreme weather, some examples being:
- Arranging shelters for participants and officials to get out of the rain or sun
- Anchoring tables, tents and other light items against strong winds
- Having warming or cooling areas in case of very cold/hot weather.
