Post-match

Depending on the amount and quality of analysis undertaken during the game, the performance analyst can assist the coach with a 'hot debrief', a review undertaken immediately after the game looking at key information related to the game model. The hot debrief can provide a statistical review of the game, based on evidence, which can temper any heightened emotion post-match.

Again, depending on time and technology available, the workflow for the performance analyst post-match will include elements of sharing footage for coaches and players, undertaking a more detailed code of the match, and providing that code and reports for coaches and players to review alongside the match footage.

With a clearly defined game model, the performance analyst can provide vital information pre-game, during and after the match, which will show how closely a team's goals have been achieved, or what areas will need to be incorporated into training for improvement.
