Keeping a Record of the Match

The Recorder is responsible for keeping a record of the match and confirming that all replacements are aligned with the Laws of the game. This includes recording: 

  • All replacements and the reason for them: 
    • Tactical 
    • Injury 
    • Foul play Injury 
    • HIA – Assesment 
    • HIA – Permanent Removal 
    • Blood 
    • HIA and Blood 
    • Recognise and Remove 
    • Yellow card front row replacement 
    • Red card front row replacement 
    • Uncontested scrum replacement 
  • All yellow and red card events 
  • All returns from temporary replacement or suspensions 
  • Red card replacements where temporary red cards are being used 
  • The match score and scorers 
  • The exact match time of all the above events. 

The Recorder should keep the match information in a timeline format using minutes and seconds. 

If an App is being used, the output from the App should be available therefore no direct reporting is required. 

The Recorder should be well versed and properly trained on using any App before the match and should have direct access to any support available.
