Roles and Responsibilities

The Sideline Official team is made up of the following roles: 

• Sideline Manager 
• Technical Zone Controller 
• Match Recorder 
• Timekeeper 

All Sideline Officials report to the Match Referee and/or the Match Commissioner, who is responsible for oversight of the execution of the match according to World Rugby Laws and Regulations and relevant Competition Rules. 

Any issues outside of the Field of Play should be escalated to the Match Commissioner or the equivalent for that level of competition (this may be the Match Referee for some levels of the game).
