Presenting to teams and coaches
Once the opportunities have been recognised, it is the performance analyst's role to present these to both coaches and players. This can be done through word and video clips and should be linked to the game model.
An example using the opportunities identified in the above game model and opposition analysis could include a one-slide presentation, identifying the key opportunities and providing video examples to reinforce those messages.
By approaching opposition analysis as an exercise to identify opportunities that match your game model, a performance analysis can add benefit to coaches' planning, and players' understanding, of how the coming game may unfold. The opposition analysis can also reinforce what elements will be most important to measure and feedback on during the game.
