First-half and half-time
As mentioned, the setup for capture and coding varies greatly across competition, as does access to radio technology and even the length of half time. As such, the role of the performance analyst can vary greatly and the amount of information they can provide to the coach and team will also vary.
In the best-case scenario, the performance analyst will be able to capture and code live, providing video and statistics to the coach during the first-half and clips to show the team at half-time.
In the worst case, the performance analyst will have to film the match themselves without the ability to code or review footage prior to half-time.
In that situation, some creativity and prior planning could allow the performance analyst to undertake notational analysis and keep a tally of key incidents like launch success or penalty count.
