Malleable or SAM splints

Highly versatile padded aluminium splints are available that can be moulded to support an injured limb. They are particularly useful for wrists, hands, forearms and ankle. They can be doubled over for added support and wrapped around an injured wrist or ankle with a “sugar-tongs” approach and they can be bent into any shape to accommodate deformity. They should be gently bandaged in place to provide support, protection and pain relief.
