During the match
First half
Supervise match operations
Keep an eye on technical zone rules, substitutions, ball boys/girls. Always talk to the 4th and 5th officials in the event of a problem, not the referee or assistants.
Half time
Monitor the duration of half time, whistle to whistle.
Half time must be no more than 15 minutes, but it could be less. The length of the interval is decided by the match organiser, the Union or the recognised body which has jurisdiction over the game.
In Sevens, half time must not exceed 2 minutes.
Call teams for second half
Two minutes before the second half is due to begin, call the teams out from their dressing rooms.
Second half

Full time
The Referee blows the final whistle, and the match is over.
