Scoring the MDQ

The screen is identified as positive if the player responds YES to 7 or more of the 13 items in Question 1 and YES to Question 2 and “Moderate Problem” or “Serious Problem” to Question 3.

Interpreting the MDQ

Where a positive screen is identified a more comprehensive assessment for the potential presence of bipolar disorder is recommended.
