Head reaction exercises

The following exercises aim to improve neck strength, muscle coordination and reaction time.

Coaches should incorporate one or two exercises into their sessions in a progressive manner - once players master Level 1 activities, progress to Levels 2 and 3. Note that the activites can also be delivered:

  • as part of the warm up
  • as preparation for contact skills during the main body of the session
  • at home with friends/family.
