Match Day - During the match
If a player experiences a head acceleration event exceeding the alert threshold, an alert will appear on The Game Day App. The elite Men’s threshold is currently set at 75g and 4500rads/s², whilst the Women’s threshold is set at 65g and 4500rads/s².
When an alert is triggered, the screen on The Game Day App will turn red and the following variables will be displayed:
- Team Name
- Player Name
- Time stamp of the event
- Peak Linear Acceleration (≥ 65g (women) or ≥ 75g (men))
- Peak Angular Acceleration (≥ 4500rads/s²)
- Location
When an alert is received, the MDD must review the alert screen and act on it immediately. All alerts necessitate immediate removal of the player for HIA1, just as they would for a Criteria 2 removal. When reviewing the red alert screen before removing the player, please ensure:
- The timestamp is current (the alert was triggered during the match and not pre-match)
- The alert is above the threshold
- Take a screen shot of the Alert for reference

Following review of the alert the Match Officials & Team Doctor should be informed that the player will be removed for an off-field assessment and the alert should be cleared by selecting “CLEAR”
Alerts that come through at halftime or at the end of the match will result in the player undergoing a HIA1 or HIA2 at the end of that respective half, the same way they would for Criteria 2 identified at the end of the half.
