In a sporting setting, it is unlikely that environmental conditions will endanger an injured athlete. However, sudden extremes of weather such as lightning, heavy rain or temperatures could put an injured athlete at risk. Blankets or umbrellas may help keep someone warm and dry whilst waiting for assistance. Unless there is thought to be a serious risk to the casualty, they should NOT be moved.
