Managing the Training Plan

This module, will address how to manage the training load placed on the player from the various forms of training they will complete in a week.

The principles of training mentioned previously, will be used to guide the training plan with the overall aim of optimising physical adaptation in response to the training stimulus.

A logical, structured training plan which adheres to the principles of training will be an effective method of developing your players. If physical training is not monitored and adjusted as the player progresses, then training and thus the adaptation potential may not be maximised.

By the end of this module the coach should be able to plan a one-week conditioning programme and be able to review, adapt and monitor this programme over a training period.
