• Emergency action plans or protocols? are beneficial to both medical staff and the player. They should be created for common scenarios such as trauma or medical problems.
  • They should have a heavy emphasis on preparation in terms of kit checks, as well as roles and responsibilities.
  • All members of the wider medical team should have a good understanding of such Emergency Action Plans  and appreciate the value of reflection and debrief for CPD.
  • Emergency Action Plans  should also be practised at least 2-3 times per season within the medical team through staff training.
