Module summary

This module introduced two Range Of Motion (ROM) tests:

  • Hip Internal and External Range Of Motion test
  • the Hamstring Popliteal test

Both hip internal and external rotation and hamstring flexibility are important for a number of reasons such as movement efficiency and injury risk reduction. These tests will allow the coach to identify deficits in their players that may be addressed through the corrective exercises provided.

This module also introduced two dynamic tests used to assess and monitor players:

  • Tuck Jump test
  • Shoulder Stabilisation test

We have provided corrective exercises that may be able to help address any movement deficiencies identified by these tests.

The procedures and test scoring have been introduced. The coach should find these tests easy to administer. It is important to ensure that the same test procedures are used on all test occasions to ensure reliability.
