Timing of the session
Planning the timing of a training session is key to making sure that the session runs efficiently. It may sound like a simple thing to do, but coaches will often forget to account for certain aspects which can lead to sessions lasting longer or shorter than they should.
Coaches should plan in time for explanation and demonstration during a session e.g. explaining and demonstrating 8 exercises and their progressions and regressions within a circuit may take more than 5 minutes. Coaches should therefore allocate timings in each section to help stay on target. An example is provided in Table 3 below.
